Experimental Investigation on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop of Supercritical Carbon Dioxide in a Mini Vertical Upward Flow

Experiments on the convection heat transfer and pressure drop of supercritical carbon dioxide in a mini vertical upward flow were investigated smooth tube with an inner diameter 2 mm. The experiments conducted pressures ranging from 7.62 to 8.44 MPa, mass fluxes 600 1600 kg·m?2·s?1, flux 49.3 152.3 kW·m?2. Results show that peak occurs when bulk fluid temperature is below proposed critical wall above temperature. For mm flow, radial buoyancy effects are relatively weak, axial thermal acceleration effect cannot be negligible. In this study, new modified Jackson correlation for convective transfer. To reflect transfer, dimensionless was introduced construct semi-correlation friction factor taking into account variation density dynamic viscosity 146 experimental data within ±20% error band.
